About Me
Teacher, Communicator, Institution Builder.
Academic leader, teacher and agricultural communication specialist with over three decades in higher education. Appointed Vice Chancellor of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar — India's first agricultural university — on 27 April 2026 by the Governor and Chancellor, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd.), for a term of three years.
Author of more than 20 books and 50 research papers, founder of the Pantnagar Janvani Community Radio Station, and architect of an institutional network spanning 75+ leading international universities. Believes a strong work culture grows from transparency, timeliness, accountability and team spirit.
Has served the university for decades in key positions including Professor, Head of the Department of Agricultural Communication and Dean of the College of Agriculture, alongside World Bank funded and DST-supported initiatives. As Chairman of the Ranking Team since 2019, he has driven the university's ICAR ranking performance, the ICAR Best Institution Award and its expanding international engagement.
- Authored 50 research publications, 10 book chapters, 45 popular articles, 20 academic and professional books, 10 life-skills books and edited 15 books/souvenirs.
- Addressed more than 1000 sessions for academicians, students and practitioners on soft skills, life skills and personality development.
- Wrote the comprehensive volume Improving Agricultural Education: Concepts and Methods.
- Developed and implemented over 1,500 soft-skills training sessions benefiting faculty and students across the country.
